What to expect at your newborn session.

Updated: Nov 22, 2018

First off, CONGRATULATIONS and Thank-you for entrusting me to photograph and handle your baby.

Newborn sessions take place in my home studio. It is best to photograph newborns during the first two weeks of life because they are more likely to sleep through different settings, and they take well to being positioned.

Newborn session can take up to 4 hours. I don’t shoot the whole time. Most of the time we’re positioning the baby into those cute poses, swapping blankets, cleaning baby mess, feeding baby, burping or doing whatever it takes to make baby happy.

If you’re after sibling and family shots we will do these first. Most siblings attention span last no more than an hour so these are done first and then concentrate on individual baby shots. This way the rest of the family have the option of leaving sooner.

Since your newborn will be naked most of the time, we use space heaters to keep your baby really warm during the photo shoot, dress light. That also being said naked babies = accidents. There is no need to apologize or worry about if a mess will happen. It’s natural and it’s expected. You're baby isn't the first one to pee or poop on me or my props. All the blankets/props get washed/sanitized after each session.

I only take a limited amount of sessions a month so book early to avoid disappointment. You can never book too early for a newborn session, we're already booking 2019 newborns.
