Can my baby be older than 2 weeks for their newborn session?
The short answer is .. YES! I just wanted to share this answer with those new moms who've just had their babies and are waiting to have their newborn sessions. Please don't stress! Any images you take yourself before you can get in with your photographer...I Promise....you'll look back at and LOVE!
This is one of my favourite first pictures of my 1st and 2nd. My eldest looks less than impressed with his new brother and his face kills me in the picture!
I have seen some photographers share posts where they say baby HAS to be under 2wks. Ideally, photographers like to get babies in young as they generally sleep better. However that said, I've had babies under 2wks old who've been awake most of the session and are just wanting to see what's going on! My youngest was like this for his session....it took me over a week to get the images I wanted of him. In hindsight, I probably should have gone someone else to do all my pictures of him.
I just wanted to let you know you can still get great photos of your baby at any age! Some of my best newborn sessions, the baby has been 3/4wks old. It really depends on the baby. It's one of the reasons I prep my clients to be here for a minimum of 2hrs. Baby runs the session and I follow the baby's cues.
With that, I wanted to share some of my favourites images from a session where the baby was a month old!
